Visual & Performing Art Classes

The Bullen Center and Thatcher-Young Mansion houses over twelve different programs for babies to seniors in visual and performing arts.  Find more information on our Art Classes page on the Education menu or click HERE.

Student Matinees

IversMatineeDismissal3P4140573 Each 45-60 minute performance by world-class, culturally diverse artists complements the core curriculum, sparks discussion, enhances learning, and arouses curiosity in young minds. Performances last about an hour.

Professional Residencies

Participants learn from visiting artists in an instructional setting.  Enrollment is limited to enhance the learning experience and some events require a small participation fee.  Find out more on the Professional Residencies page on the Education menu.

Tours of the historic Cache Valley Center for the Arts Campus

Visit the Ellen Eccles Theatre on a guided tour. Discover the origins of Cache Valley’s early theaters and hear the about the legend of the Phoenix.  The history of our facility is fascinating and often ties into 2nd and 3rd grade core curriculum. Learn about community efforts to preserve and restore the Ellen Eccles Theatre and examine the architectural elements.  Call 435-554-7065 to schedule a tour for your class or group.

 

 

Connect with Local Artists

Visit our “Community” Menu to find out about Gallery Walk, and visit the Arts Directory to find out about upcoming arts events, local arts organizations, and art galleries.  Students could write a report about local artists or receive extra credit for supporting or participating in the arts in their community.
