Friday’s Gallery Walk will feature a special collection of photos by Logan High School Photography Teacher Roger Rigby. Its subject: portraits of local people who do extraordinary things. His images are of professions that people may not realize happen in Cache Valley. You can see someone building a guitar, a potter, dance teacher, leather worker, home chef, and even a biker with a yoga instructor. One of the featured portraits is of a local man who is an Olympic weight lifter that holds the state record for his weight class.
Roger first started by taking pictures of his friends doing their jobs or hobbies, and that grew into a bigger idea. What connected all of these extraordinary people was their passion. “They all love what they do,” he said. “Not just for the paycheck or because they had to. It became about people with passion doing the things that make them happy.” He hopes his show will inspire people to do the things that they are passionate about. “It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you do it well.” His exhibit will be on display this Friday, August 14, from 6-9 PM at Café Ibis Gallery Deli.
